Since I had removed the front bumper cover already to install the Dixie Air Horns, I decided to upgrade the factory horns at the same time. I don't know how loud the stock horns are supposed to be but I bought these "Freeway Blasters" that are supposed to be 132 decibels.

Procedure:
  • The factory horns are Klaxxon and Made in France. The new ones are FIAMM and made in the USA. They are shaped identically and fit in exactly the same spot.

  • This picture shows the stock horns with the ground wire from the air compressor attached.

  • Because the factory plug is narrower than the connectors on the new horns, I had to cut the plug off and attach new connectors.

Results
  • I was a bit disappointed at first because the new horns didn't really sound that much different than the old ones. Or at least I couldn't really tell the difference (maybe I've been to too many dances and loud concerts ).
  • Anyway, I pointed the horns out a bit hoping to accentuate the sound.
  • Now after using it on the road, I definitely can tell that the tone is different and it's louder than the old horn. How much I can't say, but it's definitely louder.
