I was looking at the accessories they have for the
Passat on the Official
Volkswagen of Japan web page. A lot of these things are
available only in Japan, so I had some relatives bring them
over for me.

Notes: This is
simply a "hinge" that screws on in between the antenna and
base so that you can bend it. Especially handy if you have a roof
rack and want to keep the antenna from interfering with anything. No
discernable change in radio reception.

hinge with a rubber boot around it.
I decided to leave it on the
car and keep it at a slight angle just to be different  .
