I got this tip from a thread in the Passat B5 forum at VWvortex.
The New Beetle comes stock with a handy eyeglass holder instead of the
driver's overhead grab bar. It comes in
two colours to match your headliner:
Grey
or
Beige
.
Note: There are also two styles available: one with a
chrome accent and one without.
The one that I have is without the chrome. However, some
people have reported that because of the curve of the headliner, it is
easier to open the one with the chrome strip because there is a notch
for your finger.
Installation is just a matter of removing
the grab handle (attached by two Philips screws) and replacing it with
the eyeglass holder.
Make sure you don't screw it in
too tight, otherwise the cover won't close properly.
