Clean, waxed, and windows tinted (50% tint in front / 20% rear)

3M Worldwide - I used 3M tint and went to an authorized dealer on Hastings Street in Vancouver. I have since discovered that all authorized dealers are not created equal--the tint film has held up well, but the quality of workmanship and installation was poor. The shop on Clarke Drive is much better.

Don't forget to check the Canadian and American tint laws provided by the International Window Film Association (IWFA). I recommend you find a shop that can do the rear window in one complete piece and who will guarantee their workmanship for at least several years.

You can see from the garage pictures that 50% isn't really that dark. If I were to do it again, and go for a different look, I might be bold enough to use 35% all-around (darken the front and lighten the back) for a more uniform look. Although, I've heard from people around here with 35% all around, and while some haven't had trouble from police, others have.

I've received only 1 tint ticket ($86 fine) in all my years of driving (every car I've owned has had tinted windows) and that was only because the cop was looking for an excuse to pull me over. I guess I was stupid enough to try to pass him on the freeway even though he was going slower than the posted speed limit on a clear dry day .
